The port of Keramoti is situated 42 km east of Kavala and is the closest point to Thassos, from which the biggest part of the passengers’ and goods’ transports to and from the island is carried out.

The port of Keramoti is used:

• for the transport of passengers, with daily ferry routes to and from Thassos
• for transport of bulk cargo to and from Thassos
• for the fishing fleet, used as fishing reserve

The port has a depth of up to 7.5m.

The Kavala Port Authority S.A. wants to gradually make Keramoti an exclusively passenger port and to transfer the freight transport to “Filippos B’”.
